Bill Burr Steps Into The Director's Chair With 'Old Dads' Starring Bokeem Woodbine And Bobby Cannavale.
Comedian Bill Burr has had quite a career lately. From creating and starring on Netflix's F Is For Family to scoring a role on the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian, it only seems to make sense that he would also be helming, writing, and staring in a comedy alongside two brilliant actors, namely Bokeem Woodbine and Bobby Cannavale.
His new comedy, Old Dads, tells the story of a middle-aged dad (Burr) and his two best friends (Woodbine and Cannavale) who find difficulty staying hip and relevant in business and parenthood after selling their company to a Millennial. The film will find the trio trying to make it through their mid-life crisis as they try to make sense of the ever-changing world around them.
The movie was co-written by Ben Tishler, who is mostly known for sports documentaries. He's just wrapped his first film, Hate To See You Go, which is now in post-production.
Burr had this to say about the exciting new project:
"I'm very excited to start shooting Old Dads. This comedy is based on my own and my co-writer, Ben Tishler's, lives. Miramax has been awesome to work with, and I think people are really going to like this movie."
CEO of producing studio Miramax, Bill Block, added,
"Burr is one of the top comedic voices of his generation, and he has written a script that's not just unwaveringly funny, but also full of heart and unfiltered cultural commentary. We're thrilled to be collaborating with him and this fantastic cast, including Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine."
We look forward to seeing what Burr and the gang have in store for us. If his previous work is any indication, we expect Old Dads to be just as irreverently hysterical as it will be poignant.
