There's A New Batman In Gotham! Keanu Reeves Leans His Voice To 'DC League Of Super-Pets.'
With Robert Pattinson's The Batman hot in the public consciousness, leave it to Warner Bros. and DC to keep the fervor going by introducing another A-List superstar who will be playing The Dark Knight on the big screen coming in May. The latest trailer for the animated feature DC League of Super-Pets has dropped and features the gravelly vocals of one Keanu Reeves adding to the pantheon of actors who have played Batman.
In the trailer, we are treated to as big a meet-cute as the Caped Crusader has ever had. Playing humorously off the old trope of Bruce Wayne's origin story, Batman squats next to his future K-9 counterpart, Ace The Bat-Hound, played by Kevin Hart, as they each regale the audience of how they lost their families which led them to become the grizzled heroes they were destined to be. The brooding clip soon devolves into the sweetest boy and his dog moment one could ask for.
The film tells the story of the DC Super Heroes and their animal sidekicks, namely, Superman (John Krasinski) and his powered-up pup Krypto (played by Dwayne Johnson), along with a list of great vocal talents including Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Marc Maron, Ben Schwartz, and Diego Luna. The plot's focus is on how Ace starts as a stray only to find his play by Batman's side with the help of his overly positive pal, the domesticated Krypoto.
Written/Directed by Jared Stern of The Watch and with John Whittington as co-writer/director who wrote The Lego Batman Movie. DC League of Super-Pets is set to hit theaters on May 20th, but you can watch a sneak peek below.
