With both "Bridgerton" and now "Inventing Anna" becoming big hits on Netflix, Shonda Rhimes has now announced what her next project for the streaming giant will be. Rhimes' next project will be "The Residence," a mystery series loosely based on the book by Kate Andersen Brower. Described as a "screwball whodunnit," the series is set to continue Rhimes' interest in exploring stories centering around politics.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the logline of the series, as revealed by Netflix, is: "132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world's most famous mansion."

Showrunner and executive producer Paul William Davies will take the wheel on the new eight-episode series. His previous work for Shondaland include "Scandal" and creating "For the People," which also stars "Bridgerton" season one star Regé-Jean Page. Previously, "The Residence" had already been announced as part of Rhimes' Netflix slate back in July 2018. However, not much else is known about the series, and its premiere date has yet to be announced. With all the wonderful content Rhimes has brought to Netflix, we're eagerly looking forward to what "The Residence" will bring!
