What might have been a cringe-worthy moment for Camilla Parker Bowles, better known as the Duchess of Cornwall, ended up being a great one.

As part of International Women's Day festivities, the 74-year-old "Queen Consort" candidate met Emerald Fennell, the actress who played Parker-Bowles in Netflix's "The Crown" Seasons 3 and 4.

There were no signs of animosity between them, and they appeared to be enjoying their royal run-in.

The 36-year-old Oscar winner quipped, "I was scared I may be put in the Tower - but so far, so good." during the Clarence House luncheon. "[Camilla] has been in the spotlight for a long time and has always weathered it with grace," she added.

As part of her speech at the party, the Duchess of Cambridge raved about the "Promising Young Woman" director and writer.

"For me, it's very reassuring to know that if I should fall off my perch at any moment, my fictional alter ego is here to take over," Parker-Bowles said with good humor. "So, Emerald - be prepared!"

At the party, Fennell told journalist Georgie Prodromou that it was really great to see the royal today on International Women's Day because she has done so much for so many things for women, primarily for female organizations.

Apart from this charming encounter, one of the most moving parts of the meaningful event, was an address made by Inna Prystaiko, the wife of Ukrainian ambassador Vadym Prystaiko. She spoke about the terrible challenges women in her home country now face. "Today there are no smiles and no peace, just horror and sorrow in the eyes of every Ukrainian woman, mother and wife," she told a hushed audience.
