KIm Kardashian's Ex Husband Owes Child $1.5 Million In Child Support
Kim Kardashian is facing some shame as a result of the revelation that her ex-husband failed to make child support payments.
In addition, Damon Thomas, the reality star's first husband, is accused of owing $1.47 million in child support to his baby mother and ex-wife Sarai Tennille Torres, as well as their shared son, Dimas, over the course of the last several years.
When asked about her relationship with the music producer, Torres described him as "amazing" as well as "very kind and sweet," according to The Sun.
She went on to say that her ex, who at the time was the number one R&B producer in the world and was accused of domestic abuse, was never cruel to her and that he was always supportive.
But according to Kardashian, Thomas was physically abusive to her during their marriage.
In contrast, when Torres begged for her to be assisted after they had their child, Thomas didn't seem to care. "Just give me some money to get back on my feet," she told him.
According to Thomas' baby mama, he was not present in his son's life and had never reached out to aid his kid in any way.
"He's only ever held him once, and it was only a few weeks ago that he did so," says the mother.
Sarai Tennille Torres later filed a lawsuit against Damon Thomas, alleging that he had failed to pay child support since 2007. As a result of working with superstars such as Mariah Carey and Justin Timberlake, she claims that he earns enough money to provide for their child's well-being.
As part of his compensation for co-producing the Academy Award-winning film "Dreamgirls," Torres revealed that her ex even received $2.54 million.
Thomas was ordered to pay $9,525 in child support every month by a Los Angeles County court in 2011, but Torres and their child did not receive any child support payments after the first couple of installments were made.
As a result, according to court documents obtained by The Sun, the music producer now owes $1,476,916.87 in child support for the previous 11 years.
A number of Instagram photographs in which Thomas proudly showed his 13-year-old son Damon Jr. from a previous marriage were also referenced by Torres, who claimed that Dimas will be adopted soon.
she wailed. "The DNA proved that, but he's never officially acknowledged him," she explained.
A history of financial woes has plagued Damon Thomas. At one point, he was saddled with debts totaling more than $3.5 million, prompting him to file for bankruptcy.
His ex-wife Kim Kardashian's net worth has increased to $1 billion, while his own has decreased.
