Live From Outer Space, It's Pete Davidson! 'Saturday Night Live' Star Pete Davidson to Venture Into Space On Jeff Bezos's Next Blue Origin Flight!
Pete Davidson is going to outer space.
The comedian has been in the news very frequently as of late, due to the on-going conflict between his girlfriend Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband Kanye West. Davidson has undoubtedly been skyrocketed into a realm of fame and recognition that he had previously not been a part of. However, it now looks like the news is skyrocketing for him in a different direction.
The Saturday Night Live star is about to join the stars: literally. He has become the most recent celebrity to set his date to travel on Amazon owner Jeff Bezos's rocket. According to an article on TMZ, Davidson will be hitting the sky on March 23rd alongside five other passengers. The rocket will take off from a site in West Texas.
The other space travelers include Marty Allen, Sharon Hagle, Marc Hagle, Jim Kitchen, and Dr. George Nield. This historic flight will be the fourth passenger flight that Blue Origin has made up into outer space. Davidson's inclusion on the flight has been in the works since January. He sat down with Jeff Bezos in LA in January, and the two discussed logistics and started planning possibilities.
Through Blue Origin's outreach foundation, Club for the Future, the organization is trying to get children interested and involved in this epic scientific advancement and outer space exploration. The program is called Postcards to Space. On this specific flight, students have been encouraged to write post cards that they would like to make the journey into the sky. This postcard-based idea was established to encourage students to pursue careers in STEM.
We hope Pete Davidson and his fellow passengers have a safe flight!
