The Critics' Choice Awards - the last major awards show before the Oscars this year - went off without a hitch last night - or actually, with a Hitch, because Will Smith was in fact there.
The Critics' Choice Awards is one awards show you can't claim is out of touch because it's all critics - because, as the name suggests, this is THEIR awards show. For other shows, those selecting the award-winners have to take the opinions of the general public into account; not so with these awards. They're about the best of what's good in the eyes of people who make this stuff their whole life - sort of the opposite of the People's Choice Awards.
But, of course, there is one thing those two awards show, and every other, have in common: They give us a chance to see our favorite stars all glammed up, and to take a look at all the fashion they're wearing - and all the fun they're having out of character.
