Selma Blair Falls Off Horse While Suffering Multiple Sclerosis' Crippling Effects [Details]
On Sunday, Selma Blair was injured in a horseback riding accident.
While riding her horse, it decided to stall instead of jump, leading for the actress' fall. Blair is already known to be in a hard battle against Multiple Sclerosis. According to the report, the 49-year-old celebrity needed some time to get up after her fall.
Selma was assisted to her feet by a woman who was standing close; she was subsequently spotted leaving the horse property.
The actress is facing a lot of problems at the moment. Apart from these health crisis, she also revealed that she has a domestically abusive relationship.
Ron Carlson was accused of physically assaulting her earlier this month.
Blair made her autoimmune illness diagnosis public in October of last year.
In August of last year, Blair announced that she was in remission following stem cell treatment.
Relapses and remissions are common for MS patients undergoing therapy.
As a result of the disease's crippling effects, the actress has been unable to talk clearly and has been forced to use a cane to walk.
At one point, Blair remarked that she was determined to recover from MS for her son Arthur, even if it was 'isolating' for her.
"I was so burnt out. If there was an option to halt me, to re-balance after being hit so hard with that last flare, it's absolutely for my son. I have no desire to leave him alone right now.'
The "Cruel Intentions" actress was also effusive in her thanks for the unwavering assistance she got from her loved ones.
"People took great care of me. I never really like life. I do now - strange, huh?' she revealed.
"Just because life's so weird. I was so scared in life. To suddenly start to find an identity and a safety in me, to figure out boundaries, time management and energy. I'm having the time of my life," she added.
During an incident on February 22 at her house in Los Angeles, she claimed that her ex Ron tried to choke her.
Ron has been given a temporary restraining order against her despite his denials.
Blair's restraining order request includes photos that purport to depict her injuries following an alleged attack by Carlson.
Selma appears to have bruises and red markings on her neck and beneath her chin in the photos.
As though topless, the shot depicts Blair's head throne and her neck were stretched back to display red stains on the side of her neck.
Along with a few bloody scrapes, she looks to have black bruises on her neck below her chin.
According to the Los Angeles Times, her housekeeper took the images that were submitted in the lawsuit.
