Daniel Radcliffe 'No Interest' In Harry Potter Now, Might Take 40 Years To Reconsider
Hogwarts fans - sad news! When it comes to a film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Daniel Radcliffe isn't interested. He's not even interested in the whole franchise anymore. It's what he said so himself.
"It's not something I'm really interested in doing right now," Radcliffe told the New York Times in an interview published Thursday when asked about Columbus' comments and HBO Max's reunion special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
He was quick to explain why, although he knew that many fans would be sad about his decision.
"This isn't the answer that anybody's going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy it because it's not a part of my day-to-day life anymore," Radcliffe said of the reunion. "I'm getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter okay and I'm really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life. I'm never going to say never, but the Star Wars guys had like 30, 40 years before they went back."

Director Chris Columbus said last year that he would like to return to the Harry Potter universe to direct the film version of J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany's stage play someday, and he expressed a desire to have original stars Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint reprise their roles in the movie.
"Cursed Child," the follow-up to the Harry Potter films, follows a new generation of witches and wizards, including Albus Potter, the youngest son of Harry and Ginny Potter, as well as adult versions of beloved figures.
In November, as the first film's 20th anniversary was being celebrated, director Christopher Columbus declared that a sequel featuring the original cast would be "cinematic bliss."
Columbus told The Hollywood Reporter that any film buff or cinephile, will be thrilled by the possibility. He said if he can get the original stars to reprise their roles, it will be like what J.J. Abrams did with "Star Wars." "There's no question if you're a Star Wars fan, you were moved just seeing them on screen, seeing Harrison Ford as Han Solo again," he said.
