Oksana Shvets Cause of Death Revealed: Ukrainian Actress Killed at 67
Oksana Shvets, a beloved Ukrainian actress popularly known for her role in the movie "The Secret of St. Patrick," has reportedly passed away at the age of 67 amid the ongoing crisis in her home country.
The Young Theatre, a community of actors in Ukraine, confirmed the tragic news on Facebook, saying she was killed in a residential building in Kyiv.
"During the rocket shelling of a residential building in Kyiv, a well-deserved artist of Ukraine, Oksana Shvets, was killed. Bright memory to the talented actress!" the caption reads translated in English.
The community also expressed their anger, saying there's no "forgiveness" for the enemy inside their country.
People Magazine reported that Russia has repeatedly denied targeting civilian sites, including residential buildings, but there have been hundreds of casualties over the past few weeks.
According to Deadline, the title "well-deserved artist" came from her accomplishment as one of the country's recipients of the Merited Artist of Ukraine badge, which is considered the highest honor for the performing arts.
Acting and performing have been Shvet's passion since her early days as she graduated from the Ivan Franko Theatre and the Kieve State Institute of Theatre Arts.
Aside from acting at Young Theater, she also performed in renowned stages like the Ternopil Music Music and Drama Theater.
In addition to her previous performances in theater, Shvets also appeared in several Ukrainian movies like "The Secret of St. Patrick," "The Reurn of Mukhtar," "Tomorrow Will Be Tomorrow," and the television program "House With Lilies." (via Variety)
