Selena Gomez Justin Bieber Break Up Has Her Saying 'I'm Definitely Single,' No Getting Back Together?
Selena Gomez clarified that she is no longer dating Justin Bieber in an interview held one day before he gave her a red rose at her birthday party, leaving fans wondering if a reconciliation is possible.
The Slow Down singer revealed that she is "definitely single" while talking to The Associated Press. When asked if she thinks the media plays up her relationship with the 19-year-old Beauty and a Beat singer, Gomez's answer included her admitting her true relationship status with Bieber.
"I think they do kind of blow it up in a way and I do think they want to have something to talk about, so that’s the easy thing to do," the 21-year-old said. "I’ve known him for a really long time and we enjoy each other’s company every now and then. But I’m definitely single and enjoying being that."

"We've had such a history together," Gomez said with a smile on her face. "I'll always care about him and protect him."

Bieber may still have feelings for Gomez, since he attended her birthday party on Saturday, July 27, and reportedly gave her a single red rose as a gift. Gomez held a bash at Revolve Clothing beach house in Malibu and though Bieber was not at the party from the start, he made an unannounced late appearance around 9 p.m. carrying his present.
"Justin flew in specifically for the party on a day off from his tour," a source told Us Weekly. "He wasn't dressed in costume, but carried a single red rose in his hand."
