Sandra Bullock Reminisces About Her Worst Film While Promoting 'The Lost City.'
While doing an interview alongside Daniel Radcliffe to promote their new film The Lost City, actress Sandra Bullock was quick to answer when asked if there were any films they regretted being in. It seems there is one particular sequel she wishes never happened.
"I have one [that] no one came around to and I'm still embarrassed I was in. It's called Speed 2. I've been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island. That's one I wished I hadn't done and no fans came around that I know of, except for you."
In the last part Bullock was referring to the person from TooFab asking the question. Not only was the film belittled by critics, fans of the wildly successful Speed, which starred herself and Keanu Reeves, were not on board for this weak second helping from director Jan de Bont.
For those not initiated, Speed was about a bomb on a bus, which if it goes above fifty miles per hour is armed, once it drops below fifty, the bomb detonates. The film was a high octane thrill ride compared to its follow up, Speed 2: Cruise Control. By the title alone she Sandy should have known better. This time around a cruise ship slowly sails towards an island town where it's on a collision course with an oil tanker. Reeves passed on the project leaving Jason Patric to step into the hero role to stop the madman played by Willem Dafoe.
It was not great.
Bullock has been more selective since that early career gaff, leading her to win an Oscar for Best Leading Actress with The Blind Side in 2009, as well as being nominated for Best Leading Actress for Gravity.
The Lost City hits theaters on March 25th.
