Gabrielle Union, star of the new Disney+ reboot of Cheaper By The Dozen is excited to revisit one of the films from her early years in acting. Namely the cheerleading hit comedy Bring It On from 2000.

While talking with ComicBook.com, Union expressed her reasons, given all of the reboots and remakes being made from older properties (including her new film, which is a remake of a remake of a 1950 film, based on a book. And the first remake had a sequel.).

"We all have an interest in revisiting it. During the pandemic, around the 20th anniversary of Bring it On, we all were, you know, together all the time doing these panels and talking about the movie and the making of the movie and all of our wild hijinks, but yea, then we got really serious about 'we should update this', you know, like bring it up to where are they now."

Bring It On, for those out of the loop told the story of a high school cheerleading team, lead by Kirsten Dunst, who finds out that their old captain has been stealing their award winning routines from an inner city Black team, captained by Union. Desperate to win on their own merits, Dunst befriends a gymnast, played by Eliza Dushku, to help them win fair and square.

Union joked about getting Dunst on board given her recent success,

"But now that Kirsten is up for an Oscar, I don't know. That twofer with her and the husband they may want to keep that train on the tracks, so I don't know if she wants to change gears that dramatically and come back to be Torrance again, but maybe. I don't know. Maybe she wants some dance moves after being out where they filmed [The Power of the Dog] but maybe she'll want some more dance and hip-hop in her life."

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Gabrielle Union gets her wish. But if you can't wait, not to worry, Bring It On has five sequels you can watch in the meantime.
