Lady Whistledown Home With Her Pen: Nicola Coughlan Tests Positive for Covid-19 and Misses ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 Premiere
Nicola Coughlan was not in appearance at the Bridgerton season two premiere after testing positive for Covid-19.
Looks like Lady Whistledown was home with her pen. The Bridgerton season two premiere took place on Tuesday night. While the cast and crew, who we've grown accustomed to seeing in their Regency Era regalia, showed up in the height of modern finery, an absence of certain key cast members was noted by many fans. Among the absent: Nichola Coughlan.
Prior to the premiere, according to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, Coughlan tested positive for Covid-19 and was therefore unable to attend the celebration. This is the first premiere party the sensational series has been able to hold for season one was released during the height of the pandemic. Unfortunately, as can be seen, Covid can still be counted on to get in the way of the full festivities. Disappointed, Lady Whistledown took to Instagram, posting a stunning selfie, captioned:
"My Bridgerton Premiere look - a little different than expected...So I've been struck down with Miss Rona and I'm missing our first premiere - heartbroken is an understatement but sending so much love to my gorgeous cast mates who I hope have the best night."
After all of her hard work, we are so sad that Coughlan was unable to celebrate her efforts with the rest of her cast, but we are glad to see that she made the most of it. We are sure she and the cast will be able to celebrate all together when everyone is healthy!
Check out Bridgerton season 2 on Netflix on March 25th.
