Bill Gates' Neighbors Not Happy With New $43 Million Bachelor Pad -- Here's Why
Bill Gates is getting ready to move into the house he and Melinda French Gates bought a few years ago.
But since they announced their divorce around a year ago, it would be turned into Bill's bachelor's pad.
According to the New York Post, the former power couple paid $43 million for an oceanfront property in San Diego, the state's newest hotspot.
The Microsoft founder is so eager to move in that he's personalizing it down to the last detail because, after all, he's now a single guy.
It had around six bedrooms and three and a half baths before renovations began in a 5,800 square foot home.
It's all been dismantled and will be rebuilt from the ground up, under Bill's supervision.
According to local reports, the billionaire has already paid a visit to the site twice in the previous several months, with his security detail checking up on the project.
However, Bill Gates' newest house is annoyance to his neighbors, who are dissatisfied with the interruptions to their peaceful area.
According to one neighbor, it's been a "nuisance," and they "make a lot of noise," claiming that her infant couldn't sleep.
Another person stated that it had become a "real hindrance" to their entire community.
Though gaining authorization to develop in that posh neighborhood is difficult, acquiring permits takes ages and is often practically impossible, it's not impossible when you're Bill Gates. He has a $134 billion net worth.
Despite the fact that the house was acquired in March of 2020, work just began three months ago.
The New York Post obtained real estate images taken prior to the home sale, demonstrating that the property was in fine shape, but the tech magnate still felt the need to build something from the ground up.
"The property they purchased was in wonderful shape, not sure why he would want to knock it down," a local realtor told the site.
Bill Gates' new property is in the Del Mar district; however, it will not be his permanent residence, but rather a seasonal bachelor pad, according to a source.
"When he comes, he inspects the home, walks out in front, and examines it."
The new mansion now has 24-hour security, which keeps a watch on the site while it is being built. According to reports, Bill's crew wants to have the entire structure completed by August.
The new property is about 30 minutes away from his Rancho Santa Fe home.
