Kim Kardashian is walking back her now-infamous "get your ass up and work" quote from the promo for her new Hulu show The Kardashians - and we would just like to say a very small "we told you so."

The original quote, which Kardashian now wants to clarify, was taken wholly out of context, was this:

"I have the best advice for women in business: Get your f***ing ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days. You have to surround yourself with people who want to work."

But today on Good Morning America, Kim was given another chance to explain exactly what she meant by that - and why it came out sounding so dismissive.

"That satement that i said was without quetsions and connversations around it, and it became a soundbyte really with no context...That soundbyte came off of the question right beofre, which was 'after 20 years in the business you're famous for being famous,' and my whole tone and attitude changed."

Kim Kardashian has repeatedly said that she takes issue with the notion that she's only famous for being famous, as, at this point in her career, if that were still true, she really would no longer have any relevance in society. She may still be famous for her original reality show fame, but only because she has stayed in the public eye with her business career, as well as her philanthropy. She is literally always working hard - so naturally, she came off a little brusque when she had to answer the question that was posed after that.

"It wasn't a blanket statment towards women, like I don't resepct their work or think that they don't work hard. I know that they do. That was taken out of context, but I'm really sorry if it was recieved that way."

The statement was really intended specifically for the people Kim considers her peers - businesswomen or aspiring businesswomen who have big dreams, and want to know what they have to do to really spread their wings and go the distance with their own plans and ideas. To THEM, Kim's offers some CLARIFIED advice:

"The advice that I would give is that having a social media presence and being on a reality show isn't overnight success. And you have to really work hard to get there, even if it might seem like it's easy, and that you can build a really successful business off of social media - and you can, if you put in a lot of hard work."

All Kardashian really meant to say was that, however much work women in business think they need to put in to become successful, there's way more work than that - and that social media isn't some kind of magic wand, just a new tool some people are very good at wielding. Those who really want to make a name for themselves have to be ready and passionate enough to put their noses to the ol' grindstone.
