Is Jeff Bridges Doing Well After Cancer Battle? Actor Reveals Current Health Status
Jeff Bridges delivered some good news two years after receiving his cancer diagnosis.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's fans and other Bridges' supporters feared that the actor might lose his battle against his dreaded disease. He first made fans feel worried about his health and future after revealing his lymphoma diagnosis for the first time.
But two years after learning about the disease, the 72-year-old actor delivered positive news to fans during a virtual panel.
Ahead of the release of his upcoming FX series, "The Old Man," he revealed to the public on Tuesday that he felt "terrific" years after his cancer battle. He also took his time to express his gratitude toward his cast and crew members who supported him during his bout with cancer.
"As far as I'm concerned, FX and all of the team were so considerate and gave me all of the time I needed to heal and all the support I needed," he said, as quoted by The Wrap. "The protocols - we were still in COVID - made me feel very safe and eager to get down to business and play."
"The Old Man" reportedly halted its production twice - during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the other was when Bridges needed to seek treatment for his disease.
Jeff Bridges Looks At Brighter Side of Health Battle
During the same virtual event, he revealed that his cancer battle contributed something to developing his character in "The Old Man." It is worth noting that Dan Chase, his role, suffers from Alzheimer's disease.
Per the actor, everything that comes to him eventually tests him. For his part, his health issue reportedly made him more mature. Although it is always like that to him, his cancer diagnosis reportedly made things even sharper.
Bridges first revealed his diagnosis on Twitter, saying that he developed Lymphoma.
"As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light. I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors, and the prognosis is good," he said.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the disease is a type of cancer that extensively attacks a person's lymph system. This includes the organs that provide, protect, and carries white blood cells.
Although the pandemic and his health kept him away from being part of several flicks, "The Old Man" opened its doors for him.
