Bruce Willis' Stunt Double Shares Heartbreaking 'Changes' Before Aphasia Announcement
Bruce Willis' 17-year stunt double has heartbreakingly described how he began to alter in the months leading up to his aphasia diagnosis.
Aphasia is a language problem caused by injury to a specific brain region that affects language production and understanding, according to the John Hopkins Medicine website.
The famed actor's family revealed on Wednesday that he would be taking a sabbatical from performing, and fans were instantly interested as to why.
However, on March 30, his daughter Rummer Willis said on Instagram, "To Bruce's incredible fans, as a family, we wanted to communicate that our dear Bruce has been suffering some health concerns and has just been diagnosed with aphasia, which is hurting his cognitive abilities."
The following few words said that he will be leaving his job due to the diagnosis, which supposedly meant a lot to him.
Stuart Wilson, Bruce's stunt double for the previous 17 years, claimed in an interview with The Sun that they had seen some changes, but it wasn't immediately obvious that something was wrong.
When he spoke with the "Die Hard" star, he stated, "he simply appeared diverted, and we would assume that would signify nothing, but you wonder if other things are going on."
However, it became clear that the 67-year-old action actor was suffering from more than simply amnesia.
Stuart had been on Bruce's side for over 20 years and had observed numerous changes.
They were already aware that something was going on because he was being tested for various things; however, they didn't know what it was at that moment.
Stuart then stated that he was aware that an announcement was approaching, but he had no idea when or what the announcement would be.

Stuart and Bruce Willis last worked together in December 2021.
However, Stuart noted that the majority of the crew was aware that Bruce would ultimately take a vacation, but they were as prepared as they could be for their job to be eliminated.
He went on to say that a large part of being a stuntman is out of one's control.
Stuart also allegedly noted minimal changes in him when he last saw him two weeks ago: "he's just a bit slimmer than typical but not malnourished."
"He's constantly in superb physical condition."
