Actor Bruce Willis appears to have been preparing for his own health decline for years. While it's truly unfortunate and sad to hear, it is quite telling of how he is as a person. The Hollywood legend has made several major property sales in recent years, according to close friends of the actor.

Prior to the news of his recent physical issue and consequent retirement from acting, the 67-year-old actor is said to have sold over $65 million worth of property

"Bruce has been preparing for this moment for a long time," one insider said. "He knew there would be a time, as his health declined, when his earning power wouldn't be as great as it once was," the source added.

The insider said that the actor had the good intuition to know that one day, he really would not need so many things and so many assets - being close with his family is a great asset enough. The source said the actor knows that a "safe environment" is required for him one day as he grows old, and that is with his family.

"Looking at how he has sold off most of his properties in recent years, it is clear that he has been preparing to downsize and simplify his life for a number of years," the source said.

The actor reportedly sold his assets at a loss. The property was bought for $12 million back in 2014, and then he tried selling it for $5.3 million. Bruce Willis however was able to ultimately sold it off for only $5.3 milion.

In 2018, he sold his Brentwood mansion for $9.8 million and his West Centeral Park duplex for $17.75 million. He sold his Sun Valley, Idaho, home for $5.5 million and his Turks and Caicos compound for a whopping $27 million as he continued to liquidate his holdings.

It was stated in a statement signed by Willis' family members that he would be retiring from acting because of the recent diagnosis of aphasia that he had received.

The family said it is truly a difficult time, but they are thankful for the fans' support.

Aphasia is a condition of communication that impairs a person's capacity to communicate verbally. Their ability to read and write is also hampered as a result of this.

Aphasia can come in many forms, so it's crucial to know what one is specifically dealing with. There are certain persons who simply have trouble comprehending language because of injury to the temporal lobe, which is responsible for processing sound and language in the brain. It's possible that some people are only unable to talk because of frontal lobe impairment.

The huge temporal lobe and the frontal lobe would be damaged if a person lost their ability to communicate and understand language.
