Cardi B is taking a minute to step away from social media.

The iconic performer, Cardi B, was nominated at last night's Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album. However, she did not attend the awards show. This lack of attendance was noted by her fans. They took to various forms of social media, including Twitter and Instagram, to accost the sensation for not making an appearance at the awards show.

Based on responses from Cardi B, according to an article on Billboard, we know that the messages from angry fans included irate comments regarding her lack of attendance and some incredibly unkind words about her children. The rapper responded:

"I'm deleting my twitter but On God I hate this f-in dumb- fan base...You got the slow dumb-es dragging my kids all cause y'all though I was going to the Grammys and I didn't the f- ? When the f- I hinted I was going ?just f-in stupid I can't I needs to protect myself."

The star has, as she announced, stepped away from social media in light of the incredibly aggressive messages that she received. Whiile she was rightfully angry about the messages she was receiving, she was also justifiably confused. It seemed that fans were angry that she somehow misled them into believing she would be at the Grammys, but that is not the case.

"When did I hype y'all up ?...Where and when did I ever gave hints ? Like are you ok ? I'm not going to a award if I don't got a new song to perform Or my album ain't out ...Next year."

She had also been sharing pictures of her location on her Instagram story on Sunday night, so there was nevery any secrecy or confusion about her location.

We are so sorry that Cardi B had to deal with this, and we hope people will learn to step away from angry social media attacks in the future.
