Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has finally fulfilled a childhood goal, to star in a Michael Bay film.

While promoting his new film Ambulance, Gyllenhaal spoke with People where he reflected on how being in a Michael Bay action movie has always been something he has wanted to do since he was a kid,

"I've always had this sort of dream since I was younger to be in a Michael Bay [movie], and it's just fun to sort of play that out. To be in a city where I grew up, where you're a kid thinking about cars and car chases and stuff like that and to be fulfilling that. Being an action star in a movie, it just allows for so much room for fun and joking and absurdity."

The premise for Ambulance definitely checks off all the boxes for Gyllenhaal. The film revolves around Will Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), a veteran who needs to raise funds to pay for his wife's surgery. Upon asking his brother Danny (Gyllenhaal) if he could pot the cash, Danny recruits his brother to help him rob a bank only to end up in a high speed chase through L.A. in a stolen ambulance.

When talking about the film, Gyllenhaal said,

"It's about having fun. I mean, the movie's really intense, but it's also really fun. It was a bit of a roller coaster to make, and the experience is very much like the way it was to make it."

You can check out Ambulance for yourself on Friday April 8th in theaters everywhere.
