Benjamin Hall spoke up for the first time after sustaining severe injuries during an attack in Ukraine.

On Thursday, Hall shared more details about his health status and paid tribute to his two colleagues who died in Ukraine. At that time, the Fox News State Department correspondent was luckily rescued and flown to a hospital in Germany.

After sustaining injuries in the warzone, he was transferred to a premier medical facility in Texas, where he received multiple procedures and surgeries.

"To sum it up, I've lost half a leg on one side and a foot on the other. One hand is being put together, one eye is no longer working, and my hearing is pretty blown... but all in all I feel pretty damn lucky to be here - and it is the people who got me here who are amazing!" he said alongside a photo of him.

After finally updating his followers, internet users started sharing their thoughtful messages to the reporter as they wished him recovery soon.

Benjamin Hall Pays Tribute to Colleagues

In a separate post, he honored his colleagues -- Pierre Zakrzewski and Oleksandra Kuvshynova - who died on the same day he was injured.

"Its been over three weeks since the attack in Ukraine and I wanted to start sharing it all. But first I need to pay tribute to my colleagues Pierre and Sasha who didnt make it that day. Pierre and I traveled the world together, working was his joy and his joy was infectious. RIP," he wrote.

An attack near the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv claimed their lives and left Hall injured.

Zakrzewski was a longtime war journalist, while Kuvshynova was a Fox News' freelance consultant.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott sent a memo to staff and detailed that Kyvshynova died while helping their crews navigate Kyiv. Ukrainian official Anton Gerashchenko initially confirmed that the journalists were attacked by Russian forces' mortar or artillery fire.

Aside from the Fox News team, award-winning American documentarian Brent Renaud was also killed in an attack that injured journalist Juan Arredondo. CNN shared terrifying footage taken by Sky News, showing the journalists getting ambushed violently.

A graphic photo on Facebook showing Renaud's body, including his American passport and The New York Times' media credentials, also went viral.

While Renaud was not working for The New York Times at the time of his death, TIME confirmed that the journalist was in the region to work on a TIME Studios project that focuses on the global refugee crisis.
