Everyone by now knows what Will Smith feels about the slap he delivered to Chris Rock for the world to see. Everyone also by now knows that he resigned from the Academy because of it, but still got banned for whole 10 years. Despite all the conversations going on about the incident however, Chris Rock has remained steadfastly silent. He's supposed to be the one with million things to say!

Not that he placed the whole thing off his mind. In fact, it made it to one of his jokes recently, wherein he hinted that he will speak of "that" until he receives payment. He did not say what "that" is though - so it can be about the slap or an entirely different thing.

This is according to a report from the Palm Springs Desert Sun, which detailed his set in Indio, CA, and the material referenced as Chris continues his national comedy tour. The comedian told a live audience Friday that he would not talk about the Oscars until he was compensated, which for some might not sound right.

"I'm OK, I have a whole show, and I'm not talking about that until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back," Rock allegedly said.

Strangely, if Chris is referring to the fact that he is waiting for any form of network to pay him for a sit-down interview, it means none has yet offered. But that cannot be possible, given the audience this issue has gained since it happened. Surely, a network or a magazine already would. At least that is what TMZ is pondering.

According to TMZ, it is also possible that Rock might be talking about something else. If not, he could just be completely joking and making light of the situation, since no one can deny that he has made some really insensitive remarks himself, probably not warranting a very public slap, but not enough to be considered blame-free.

Regardless the circumstances, Chris appears to be in good spirits and carrying on as usual.

With each event on his current tour, Chris seemed to be opening up more and more - remember, during his first few shows on the East Coast, he mentioned nothing but the fact that he was still digesting what happened.

Now, it looks that he is finding some humor in the situation - either that, or he is simply hiding his true feelings with his comedic abilities. It will be interesting to see if and when Chris speaks out on this issue.

The meantime... the industry remains splintered over Will's punishment - namely, the 10-year prohibition on attending awards shows, which has nothing to do with his eligibility for nominations.
