Dwayne Haskins faced a tragic death when he got involved in a traffic accident this month, new documents revealed.

A few weeks after Haskins died, the Florida Highway Patrol released the official crash report that offered further details about the fatal accident.

In the documents obtained by a news outlet, investigators found out that Haskins was hit by two vehicles during the crash. He was first struck by a dump truck before a Subaru Outback partially hit his body.

The incident happened in the middle of the highway in Broward County on April 9.

The same documents included a diagram of the crash, showing the two points where the vehicles smashed the athlete.

Investigators said that a third vehicle might have been involved in the crash, as well, adding injuries to the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback. The responders pronounced Haskins' death minutes after being struck.

The documents also noted that both vehicles' drivers stopped after hitting Haskins. They were not tested for alcohol or drugs.

Meanwhile, a final Traffic Homicide Investigation that could explain why Haskins was walking on the highway is still pending. However, his wife seemingly knew why the 24-year-old crossed the road.

Dwayne Haskins' Wife Called 911

Associated Press shared a recording of a 911 call from Haskins' wife, who was unaware that there had been an accident.

The athlete reportedly told Kalabrya Haskins that he was walking to get gas. The wife then called the hotline to inform the Florida Highway Patrol dispatcher that her husband was stuck on the side of the highway. Haskins reportedly told her he would call her back once he returned.

When the quarterback failed to update her, she reportedly tried to call him but could not reach him. This prompted her to ask the dispatcher to send someone into the area to see if the car was there and if he was okay.

However, the highway patrol was already informed that a fatal accident occurred during the call.

"I don't want you to panic, but I am going to be honest with you," the dispatcher told Kalabrya. "We do have an incident on the highway, but I can't confirm if that's your husband or not."

Aside from Kalabrya, a man named Chris Stanley reportedly saw Haskins moments before the accident. He told NBC 6 South Florida that he was dropping off his daughter at the Fort Lauderdale Airport on the morning of the accident. While he was on his way home, he spotted vehicles veering into his lane.

He added that the man, who is said to be Haskins, raised his arm a little but appeared as if he was about to collapse into the highway. He called 911 after feeling concerned over the "disturbing moment." Haskins was hit six minutes after his call.
