Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's Neighbors Claim They're Not Part Of Their 'Community'
In an earlier interview last week, Prince Harry stated that he and his wife Meghan Markle had been welcomed into the Montecito community "with open arms."
That, however, may not be the case.
A gossip writer with inside information from the gated Santa Barbara community told The Sunday Times that they "haven't become a part of the community."
The $14 million luxury residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lies in the remote village as they live among renowned and wealthy people, with a zero-tolerance policy for paparazzi.
During an interview with the NBC "Today Show"for the Invictus Games in Holland, the 37-year-old stated that they had been welcomed with open arms in Montecito and that it is a "wonderful community."
Some of his neighbors, though, were perplexed by his comments.
According to the Montecito Journal's Richard Menards, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been a "no-show" since their arrival at the property in July 2020, just a few months after they stepped down from their top royal jobs.
He told The Times that his neighbors are "bristling" because of Prince Harry's words in the interview.
"It's such a nice spot to go out, and they haven't shown up." "The major question is, 'Where are they?'"
The Duke of Sussex has yet to visit Old Kings Road, a British-inspired tavern on Santa Barbara's main street.
According to several sources, the father-of-two may soon become more prominent after joining the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club.
Meghan Markle's husband is expected to play with Ignacio "Nacho" Figueras, an Argentine multimillionaire polo professional and Ralph Lauren model.
Furthermore, Etonian Andrew Bossom, a polo aficionado, told the site that seeing Prince Harry in their neighborhood would be "a major stride into the local community for him."
Prior to joining the club, Prince Harry is said to have practiced on a private polo field owned by hotelier Pat Nesbitt.
However, reports are circulating that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attempted and failed to obtain burgers from fast-food establishments because to security concerns.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, on the other hand, appeared comfortable and pleased while watching the Invictus Games.
The former royal founded the Games in 2014 after being inspired by the Warrior Games in the United States. The Games' 2022 segment will conclude on Friday.
