From TikTok to Feature Film: Charli D'Amelio Set to Star in Upcoming Thriller 'Home School': This Is What We Know So Far
TikTok star Charli D'Amelio is heading from the phone screen to the big screen as she is set to star in an upcoming thriller.
Charli D'Amelio made a name for herself on TikTok, doing dances on the short-video social media platform. From recording videos at home, she skyrocketed to superstardom; Her family now has their own show on Hulu titled The D'Amelio Show. Now, according to an exclusive on Deadline, the social media star is set to star in an upcoming movie, titled Home School.
In this new thriller, D'Amelio will take on the role of Mira, a seventeen year old girl whose mother passes away. Following this tragic incident, she sets off to live with her aunt in a new, strange town. However, in this weird new location, Mira discovers that her mom's death and her own future are supernaturally connected.
D'Amelio has shared her undeniable excitement to be working on this project:
"As soon as I read Home School, I knew it was for me. I connected with the character, Mira, the story, the script, and the team. I knew if I was going to do a movie, it needed to be something fun, edgy, and fresh...While the role will certainly be challenging and push me to learn to act and become Mira, it's a fun ride and meant to be fun to make and fun to watch. I also wanted to make sure I surrounded myself with a great team."
