The MCU's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been a virtual smorgasbord of Easter eggs, cameos, and speculation for fans of the franchise since it was first hinted at in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the new Illuminati Teaser trailer is no exception.

We have already been told that the Illuminati would be a major part of the plot, teasing us with none other than Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor Charles Xavier in his first appearance since Disney acquired the rights to the X-Men property.

In the trailer, we get a tad more than a voice-over, rather we get a shot of his famous wheelchair with the line,

"Let's see what kind of Doctor Strange you are."

If that doesn't get the hairs on the back of your neck to perk up, maybe the Illuminati's guards being Ultron bots might do the trick?

Or perhaps a shot of the shield Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) wielded in What if...? when she took the super-soldier serum to become Captain Britain, now facing off against Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) in what looks like a drag-out battle scene complete with a jet pack on her back?

Yeah, we thought that might get your attention.

Yes, this new trailer is adding more and more pieces to the puzzle that Marvel has been hinting at for months, and fans are getting more rabid by the day.

And why not? The film has Sam Raimi at the helm, the man who gave us the first successful Spider-Man franchise starring Tobey Maguire; it's expanding an already vast universe with characters we have wanted back for years, and the marketing has been a treasure trove of new ideas around every turn.

Check out the new Illuminati Teaser for yourself before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6.
