Dave Coulier spoke candidly about his sobriety as it reportedly helped him grieve after losing important people in his life.

Ahead of the premiere of Monday's episode of "Tamron Hall," Coulier expressed his gratitude that he became sober before losing his father Dave, his brother Dan, and his friend Bob Saget. Per the 62-year-old "Full House" actor, his sobriety became a gamechanger when he was grieving.

He told Hall that he went through a lot after losing those important people in his life. He also took his time to recall what happened to his father, brother, and Saget.

According to Coulier, his brother took his own life even though Dan had always been the funniest person he knew. He was purportedly the one who found him dead at his father's house.

When he saw his lifeless brother in the basement, a part of him died since Dan was a huge part of his life.

"I made jokes to my friends and family, and the line was, 'Boy, I sure picked the wrong time in my life to stop drinking.' And people would laugh at that knowing I was sober," he added. "And then my father passed away a couple of months ago, and I got to say all the of the things that a son could say to his father about how proud I was."

Aside from his father and brother, Coulier also lost his "Full House" co-star.

In the same interview, he revealed that he was still able to speak with the late comedian on the morning of his death.

"He was texting me and making me laugh and we were texting back and forth and making each other laugh very, very hard," he said. "The last thing I said to him was 'Have a great show tonight.' That was my last real connection with Bob."

Losing those people was truly excruciating for Coulier. But he managed to survive the pain because of his sobriety.

He told Tamron that he would surely never be able to feel the loss if he was still drinking. Due to his sobriety, he was able to feel that sorrow since it was important for him to do so.

Coulier reportedly told himself that he should feel the pain and incredible love for the people he lost.

Fortunately, he finally got over the phase in his life when he was still an alcoholic, and Coulier has been sober for over a year.
