Everything Is Not As It Seems In Olivia Wilde's 'Don't Worry Darling.' Check Out The Chilling First Trailer.
It has been an impressive career for Olivia Wilde thus far. Not only has she made a name for herself as an A-list actress on television and in film, she has also been bringing her talent to the director's chair in recent years.
Her first big screen success, the female-driven hit comedy Booksmart (2019), starring Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein, showed that there is so much to her than her impressive on-screen abilities.
The trailer for her second feature, Don't Worry Darling, has dropped, and from the looks of it, audiences are going to see a different side of Olivia Wilde.
The film, which stars Wilde, Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, Nick Kroll, and Wilde's real-life boyfriend Harry Styles, tells the story of Alice, a 50s housewife who has moved into a so-called experimental community which lauds itself as a utopia.
Kept in the dark about the goings on outside of the "perfect neighborhood," Alice begins to think that there is something sinister underneath the community's shiny veneer. Steeped in conspiracy, surrealism, and secrecy, she begins questioning the motives of the men behind this so-called utopia - but in doing so, she begins to look more and more insane to everyone who lives there.
Exclusive footage for Don't Worry Darling premiered at CinemaCon last week, where Wilde was handed custody papers while onstage presenting the film to those in attendance. Always a professional, she barely acknowledged them, and moved on with her speech.
Sent by ex-husband Jason Sudeikis, the Ted Lasso star said to have had no involvement with the inopportune time she was served the documents.
Don't Worry Darling is set to premiere in theaters on September 23, 2022.
