Spilling Teardrops On Our Guitars! Swifties Sobbing After Taylor Swift Does Not Attend the Met Gala...Following Her Long History of Not Attending the Met Gala.
Swifties around the world were waiting to see Taylor Swift's highly anticipated, predicted album-revealing Met Gala look, and the singer-songwriter....did not attend the event.
Admittedly, Swifties kinda clowned themselves this time around.
The mega-talent last attended the Met Gala back in 2016. For a variety of reasons, Swift has not attended since, but, through internet sleuthing, well-researched fan theories, and gosh darn old-fashioned hope, Swifties everywhere really believed that this would be the year of her magnificent return.
Her close friendship with Blake Lively, one of the co-chairs of this year's Met Gala, suggested that the singer may show up to show support. Furthermore, fans suspected that she would appear clad in an outfit that would not-so-subtly wink at the next Taylor's Version album. (It would not be the first time that the singer would use fashion to foreshadow releases to come.)
Yet, Swifties spent the night glued to their screens, waiting for a star that never showed up.
The reason that Taylor Swift did not attend the gala is not yet known (but, again, given her history of not attending, we can't be too surprised.)
Much like Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift is pointing to her head - where ALL the secrets are. It must be a badass powerful lady thing.
We would like to make sure that Swifties are not being too hard on themselves today. Even the most brilliant scientists make hypotheses that fall flat, and Taylor Swift's perfect elusiveness is what makes her so compelling.
So, if you found yourself sobbing over a lack of Swift, go, listen to your favorite album, eat a snack, and wait with the rest of us - we know that announcement will be here soon! (We don't know what it will be, but that's another story entirely.)
