Blake Lively wins the Met Gala.

Thank you all for participating. It was lovely to have you here, but we could only have one winner. You are all winners in our hearts and minds.

One of the Gala's co-chairs, Blake Lively, took to the carpet in an incredible coppery-pink and silvery-blue gown. She wore long an elegant tiara and long pink gloves that perfectly harken back to the time-period based theme of the event. Lively looked absolutely breathtaking

Of course, this was not all.

After she was a bit of a way down the carpet, Lively's dress transformed. Helpers ran up to help drape the original elegant bunching of her dress down into a flowing, blue masterpiece of opulence and elegance.

Variety captured the video of the incredible transformation, and "effervescent" is the only word close enough to describe the magic of Lively's look. It was like Sleeping Beauty's color-changing dress brought to life; like Cinderella's transformation for the ball.

This dress was not merely an asthetic choice; the actress also described how every piece of the dress was inspired by the archetecture of the city.

She was quite literally wearing, and elevating, New York City. She explains the detailed thought process behind the dress in a way that makes us obsess over the actress even more (if that was even possible.)

For an actress that got her start playing NYC it-girl Serena van der Woodsen on the phenomenal series Gossip Girl, this look is activating the nostalgia of every GG fan in the world. NYC inspired dress? Co-chair of the Met Gala? Lily van der Woodsen would be so proud.
