Top Gun: Maverick, the long awaited sequel to the 1986 Tom Cruise hit, has just dropped its theme song by singer Lady Gaga entitled Hold My Hand.

In hopes of following in the footsteps of "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin, made famous by the original film, "Hold My Hand" has an 80s ballad feel to it, with its dramatic melody and powerful vocals. Though, when you first hear the intro, one might think that the download has a glitch when the jittery synth and strange digital vibrato added to Lady Gaga's voice.

That is, until the song kicks in properly and what you are given is a decent homage to the music of the past era.

This comes with the news that Top Gun: Mavrick will be flying into theaters three days early with Paramount's Top Gun Tuesday, where viewers can get special tickets at select theaters on May 24th. Along with the ticket audience members get an enamel pin and a print by Doaly. Certain theaters will also be giving out a collector's edition NFT.

With early critic reviews for the film flying high, Top Gun: Maverick seems like a definite theater experience to behold. And why not? Tom Cruise put his co-stars through an intense flight camp, approved the script when it was ready, and for the most part treats the audience to a spectacle with each project he worked on. If we were to guess, the Imax experience is going to be the way to go with this one.

Top Gun: Maverick will have early access on May 23rd, and then lands in theaters on May 27th worldwide.
