Tina Fey once tried to set best friend Amy Poehler up on a date, and it did not go as planned.

Comedy power-duo and gold-standard friendship pairing Amy Poehler and Tina Fey attended the Netflix is a Joke festival last week. As neither of them are stand-up comedians - which they immediately pronounced to everyone in the room when they took the stage - the two hilarious icons instead had a conversation where they answered questions about their lives, work, and hilarious mishaps.

One of the most fascinating pieces of trivia to come out of this exciting night is that Tina Fey once tried to set Amy Poehler up with James Masden.

Marsden had just finished up playing Fey's love interest on her hit series 30 Rock. As neither Poehler nor Marsden was seeing anyone at the time, she thought it was a perfect plan.

The star recalled:

"You were newly single, and I knew he was newly single...We were at the [Emmys or Golden Globes] and we were going to an afterparty. I got it in my head that I was going to set you up."

However, when it came to making the final match, it did not go as Fey intended it to.

"I was walking out, and I was like, 'Jimmy you should come to our afterparty.' He was like, 'Oh, maybe I will,' and I was like, 'No, you should definitely come to our afterparty.' I was drunk. Then he was like, 'I'm going to take off.'"

Why was he taking off? Well, Fey realized, looking back on the drunken conversation of the night:

"I realized in my drunkenness that he thinks I was trying to f**k him - and I'm a married lady, I wasn't."

If that isn't a plot line lifted STRAIGHT from a sitcom about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's lives, I don't know what is.

Actually, wait...we would 1000000% watch a sit-com about them. Can someone get on that?
