Miles Teller to Play 'Fantastic Four' Mr. Fantastic? Director Josh Trank Denies Claims
Although the script is not yet finished and a casting director has yet to be chosen, rumors are flying that Miles Teller may be in line to star in Marvel's Fantastic Four reboot.
The 21 and Over actor is said to be in contention for the role of Reed Richards, also known as the extremely elastic Mr. Fantastic. While The Wrap claims to have received word of the potential casting from individuals close to the film, director Josh Trank (Chronicle) categorically denies the rumors.
"The casting rumor floating around today isn't true.... the end," Trank tweeted on Friday.
Meanwhile, Devin Faraci, writer for Badass Digest, later tweeted The Wrap reporter Jeff Sneider stating that, while Teller met with the studio months ago, he is no longer being considered for the role.
There have also been whispers that Chronicle actor Michael B. Jordan is being eyed for the role of the Human Torch. Although this would be a departure from the canonical race of the original superhero, it would be a solid casting choice if Trank was going for a younger group of actors then the 2005 version of the film.
Hollywood rumor mills have not yet disclosed the names of those being considered for the roles of the Invisible Woman or The Thing.
