So, the new teaser trailer for Marvel's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law dropped, and let's just say the effects budget needs a serious bump-up.

Mind you, the show looks bright, fun, and light-hearted, much the way Disney+ promoted Hawkeye, and it does well to introduce you to the character of Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Moslany), your run-of-the-mill single career woman who has to learn to balance her new promotion with gaining the powers of The Hulk, only less destructive.

The narrative, dialogue, and actors are all there, with Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner and Tim Roth coming back as Abomination, the heavy from The Incredible Hulk (2008).

The real issue that Twitter immediately began harping on was the cartoonishly awkward digital effects.

To be fair, there is plenty of praise going around as well. The whole thing is not quite Sonic the Hedgehog bad, but it has some problems.

Ruffalo is still playing his part as Hulk, only now the character feels cartoonish and surreal - same goes for She-Hulk. There is one shot where she is carrying her date in her arms, and the movements look jerky as she walks through the frame. This is a problem, especially when you have built a show around a character - two, in this case - who requires a digital effects budget.

Now, they might go back and do a bit of spit-and-polish for the final product. It wouldn't be the first time. That said, companies like Disney have the budget for these effects heavy projects, and if you're going to buy up all the IP, you better produce.

But let's all remember, this is just a teaser trailer, so it's early in the game.

She-Hulk is set to smash onto Disney+ August 17.
