Lizzo is getting her own documentary on HBO Max.
The performer is a superstar in every sense of the word. Her music not only entertains, but empowers. We have seen her be heartfelt and hilarious, fun and vulnerable. Lizzo has genuinely changed the world we know today, in a very artistic and powerful way.
Where did she come from?
That is the question that this documentary will answer. It will chronicle the life of the mega-talent, giving the world an inside peak into the backstory of the singer. Through everything from her upbringing to her skyrocket launch into the world of superstardom, fans will be able to attain a more well rounded understanding of what has made Lizzo 100% That B****.
The documentary is being directed by Doug Pray - the cinematic genius who has also been behind HBO Max projects such as Hype! and The Defiant Ones.
When announcing the documentary at the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront, Lizzo shared:
"Growing up I never dreamed I'd get to experience all of the things I've accomplished in my life, and I'm just getting started. I'm so excited I get to share and relive my journey with my fans and HBO Max. From 'Cuz I Love You' to my dramatic world tour, losing and gaining love, and creating my new album 'Special,' y'all get to see the amount of time, patience, blood, sweat and tears that went into this process.
It takes ten years to become an 'overnight success,' and hopefully I can inspire other young creatives to keep going."
