Jimmy Kimmel has tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time this month.

The late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel had a run in with Covid-19 earlier this month, which forced him to remain off-air until the illness had passed. During that time, his show was run by stand-up comedian Mike Birbiglia. After an entertaining couple of shows with our late-night substitute teacher, Kimmel was back and ready to get back into his normal routine.

Until now.

The host has tested positive for the virus for a second time, once again requiring him to leave his homebase studio for a few more days.

Kimmel tweeted out jokingly:

While we wish Kimmel were healthy, we are excited to see how both John Mulaney and Andy Samberg take on the hosting responsibility. From Birbiglia to Mulaney to Samberg, these fill-ins have put a new thought into the minds of many: I'd watch that show.

Birbiglia's hilarious personality lends him perfectly to the setting, and Mulaney and Samberg would not be the first Saturday Night Live alums to make the shift over to late night show hosting. It would not come as a surprise to anyone if any of these three started up their own hilarious late night show.

(Is this something that may be in the works behind the scene? If it isn't yet, it DEFINITELY should be.)
