Johnny Depp and his lawyer Camille Vasquez are the buzz of the town right now for two reasons.

First, Vasquez rocked it on the stand when she cross-examined Amber Heard and made Depp appear like the victim, and second, their amorous looks and touches at each other caused many to assume that they were romantically involved.

The lawyer has just become a big name, yet when she was savaging the "Aquaman" actress on the stand, she and the "Edward Scissorhands" star's amorous show in court went unnoticed.

A body language specialist now believes that their interactions are deliberate, which would make the 58-year-old celebrity client a "romantic hero."

Several times during the trial, the 37-year-old legal expert smiled supportively at the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor and even hugged him inside the courtroom.

Fans speculated on social media that they are secretly dating, with Vasquez remaining silent on the romance allegations when reporters approached him outside the courts on Wednesday.

According to Judi James, a body language specialist who talked to the Daily Mail, their intimate interactions may be staged to make Depp appear "softer" and "more appealing," almost like a romantic hero from one of his films.

On Thursday, James told the site that their interactions appear flirty, but that it might be what Depp and his crew intend to depict.

"If a picture paints a thousand words, these 'words' look straight out of the pages of [romance publishing company] Mills & Boon."

The body language expert further theorized, "For Depp's loyal fans, these dramatic rituals will seem like validation. 'If this smart, beautiful woman thinks he is OK, then maybe he is' will be the implied message."

A photo of Johnny Depp and Camille Vasquez holding while she closed her eyes and smiled contentedly was released to the public.

But even James believes it was all staged for the cameras, characterizing it as a "moving piece of body language play."

Depp, on the other hand, returned the lawyer's loving demonstrations. He even drew her chair out and murmured something into her ear.

The demonstration of affection makes the actor appear sweet and benign, in contrast to the unstable and aggressive character described by Heard on the stand.
