Wendy Williams NOT Happy After Court Win, Wants 100% Control Over Finances
Wendy Williams successfully scored the access to her frozen bank accounts - but she wants more than that.
Amid her health issues, Williams has to deal with her financials, as well, as her bank - Wells Fargo - accused her of being incapacitated. Thus, it suggested that she needs guardianship.
But this week, a source told The Sun that the former "The Wendy Williams Show" host regained her access to her funds again.
"The guardianship process is complete, which means the court-appointed a financial guardian," the source stated. "Now it's up to the guardian, Wendy and the court as to how she will be accessing her money."
However, her attorney expressed her dissatisfaction over the ruling since she wants to have full control of her finances.
In an interview with Page Six, Williams' lawyer La'Shawn Thomas said that the host does not agree with the appointment of a financial guardian. She purportedly made it clear that she does not want a financial advisor to tell her what she should and should not do with her finances.
The legal representative added that Williams feels she is capable of making her own decisions without anyone's help. Instead of having court-appointed personnel, she insisted on hiring the person personally, instead.
Is Wendy Williams Under Conservatorship?
While having a financial guardian seems like she is already in a conservatorship, an insider explained that it is not the case as the court could give back the full control to her.
Although she has a financial guardian, the long-time host will still have "a say" when it comes to her spending.
Still, she does not have 100 percent control right now.
"This isn't like a Britney Spears conservatorship - this is a financial guardian - this is someone who is watching over her finances, who is making sure that the decisions that are happening with her accounts are in her best interest," the insider added.
The guardian is set to ensure that Williams' expenses are always in her own financial best interest first.
The new development came after Williams expressed her desire to make a TV comeback after losing her "The Wendy Williams Show." She told Fat Joe that she still wishes she could go back to her show to talk about everything she has been up to. She also imagined how fun it would be to talk about her return when she comes back.
