Saturday Night Live had their final episode of Season 47 on Saturday night - and with that episode came some difficult goodbyes to some of our favorite cast members.

Saturday Night Live is a show that looks, to the outside world, a little bit like school: New people come in, learn the ropes, grow with the show, bond with the people around them, and one day they have to graduate.

While only one cast member, Beck Bennett, did not make the return to Studio 8H for season 47, many took their final bow on Saturday night, after the season finale aired with host Natasha Lyonne.

Many fan favorites are leaving the show this year. Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and Kyle Mooney are all expected to have performed their final show as a cast member on the time-tested sketch series.

The four have been long-standing key performers on the show. As their careers outside of the show continue to pick up, we cannot say we are surprised that this contingent of performers has decided they need their sleep.

While we are heartbroken to see them go, we are sure we will be seeing them in many more projects for many years to come. (Also, we KNOW they will be back for cameo appearances, so we can breathe a sigh of relief there.)

Congratulations to all on your historic runs on this epic show! We can't wait to see what changes are in store for next season in light of this news.
