Rachel Dratch is a Tony nominee, and she credits a lot of that to her experience on Saturday Night Live.

Rachel Dratch is one of Saturday Night Live's most memorable alums. She made a name for herself on the show playing iconic characters, such as Debbie Downer, and has gone on to have an amazing career in both film and television. Now, the star has made her way to the Broadway stage.

She has made her Broadway debut in the play POTUS. a performance for which she has been nominated for a Tony Award. Last night in an interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Dratch discussed how her time on Saturday Night Live set her up for this impressive theatrical accolade.

This The Tonight Show interview was already a warmingly loveable affair, as Dratch and Fallon were previously co-stars on the late night sketch show. In light of her recent nomination, Dratch reflected that, in many ways, Saturday Night Live made her Brodaway debut seem easy for she only had to focus on one part of the production.

"The pressure of SNL is you had to write something every week, so that was the thing that was really hard about SNL. This is just, like, you show up, it's all written for you. You just have the fun part. This part that I have in the play-I'm kind of the clown. I get to do a lot of physical stuff. It's really fun. It's kind of SNL style."

Congratulations to everyone nominated in the 2022 Tony Award season!
