Jada Pinkett Smith Has THIS Wish After Will Smith, Chris Rock's Oscars Slap
Jada Pinkett Smith finally broke her silence on Will Smith's Oscars slap and revealed what she hopes for after the incident.
Pinkett Smith and her family had not addressed the slap yet and talked about healing instead. But after staying silent over the 2022 Oscars incident, the matriarch revealed her greatest hope between her husband and Rock.
In a new clip for the "Red Table Talk" Wednesday episode, Pinkett Smith spoke candidly about alopecia at the start of the Facebook Watch show before commenting on the Oscars slap.
"This is a really important 'Red Table Talk' on alopecia. Considering what I've been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories. I'm using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it's like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is," she said.
She described Smith and Rock as "two intelligent, capable men" who she hopes to reconcile soon. She explained that the world needs both of them.
While waiting for a chance for the two to finally talk about what happened, Pinkett Smith said that she and her husband would continue figuring out life just like what they have been doing for 28 years.
It became her latest statement about the slap after speaking about it for the first time during the first episode of her show's season 5 in April. At that time, the matriarch spoke about healing "when the time calls."
Will Smith Never Apologized to Chris Rock in Person
Pinkett Smith's statement somewhat contradicted her husband's action as the "King Richard" actor purportedly started his healing journey without talking to Rock personally first.
In April, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the actor arrived in India for spiritual purposes and to practice meditation and yoga.
Some Hollywood sources rolled their eyes since the actor reportedly got time to leave the country without personally apologizing or reaching out to Rock first.
They told Page Six that Smith could not make his vow to work on himself to prevent "violence to overtake reason." The insiders added that he would not be able to complete his spiritual journey if he would not fix his relationship with the comedian.
"Will's 'spiritual journey' to India for yoga and meditation seems cynical and ridiculous, given that he hasn't apologized personally to the one person he assaulted in front of millions. No amount of Namastes will make up for that," a source said.
