Boy band One Direction held an advance screening of their new 3D movie This is Us, and fans caused such a ruckus that the police were called.

At the Grove's Pacific Theatres in L.A., fans had passes to the movie screening from gofobo.com and some began to line up outside as early as 3:45 a.m., The Los Angeles Times reported Aug. 3.

When the doors opened, fans reportedly began to rush the theater doors trying to get into the auditorium.

"They charged and went straight by the ticket takers for the doors of the actual theater screaming, 'Let us in! Let us in!,'" one mother of a fan told the L.A. Times. "It took about a half an hour before a police car came with two policemen in it. They started palming kids down and shoving them outside."

A 16-year-old fan told the publication, "It was pretty scary because people were tripping on the floor and pushing and stuff like that."

E! News reported yesterday that a source told them the advance screening was an invite-only with a first-come first serve basis.

"People that weren't able to get in were stuck outside the theater," the source told E! News. "Someone shouted that the band was actually there and that's when a bunch of screaming girls ran in and tried to get inside."

Despite all the hoopla, the source said security was able to stop anyone who didn't have a pass from coming into the theater and the screening carried on as planned.

For fans who didn't get in to the screening, they can watch This is Us with the rest of the country on Aug. 30.
