With Multiple Sexual Assault Claims Looming, Kevin Spacey Announces He Will Voluntarily Appear In U.K. Court To Prove His Innocence
Disgraced actor Kevin Spacey, who made news in the U.K. recently after three men brought him up on multiple charges of sexual assault, has been given a court date of June 16th.
The first victim claims two separate allegations of assault that took place in March of 2005 in London. The second victim claims "assault and penatrative sexual activity without consent" back in August 2008, also in London, and the third was allegedly sexually assaulted in Gloucestershire in April of 2013.
Spacey stated his desire to voluntarily appear in court to plead his side of the multiple offenses when his representative spoke on his behalf on Good Morning America last month,
"I very much appreciate the Crown Prosecution Service's statement in which they carefully reminded the media and the public that I am entitled to a fair trial, and innocent until proven otherwise. While I am disappointed with their decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the U.K. as soon as can be arranged and defend myself against these charges, which I am confident will prove my innocence."
Bold words from the actor who sullied his career when Star Trek: Discovery's Anthony Rapp charged him with "assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress," which Rapp claims happened in 1986 - when he was only 14 years-old. That case is set for October 4th.
