'Outer Range' Actor Josh Brolin Is Forced To Interview Himself Resulting In One Of The Best Sit Downs Of All Time
Never let it be said that actor Josh Brolin is anything but a good sport.
While waiting to record an Actors on Actors segment for Variety with fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe alum Jeremy Renner, a no show by Hawkeye left Brolin to find a fill in. Thankfully, he found a last-minute replacement with an actor he has a deeply personal relationship with, himself. And the results are nothing short of hysterical.
During the impromptu bit, Brolin played along with the gag by asking the usual interview questions one might get, including talking to himself about his new Amazon Studios series Outer Range, his kids, and his time playing Thanos in the MCU.
Throughout the actor jokingly gushes about how much he is a fan of himself, asking and answering as if two separate entities. Brolin begins with a bit of tongue-in-cheek narcissism and it takes off from there:
"OK. I'm nervous. I've always been a big fan, and you have this new show, Outer Range I saw the first two, and it's incredible. It makes you just want to aspire to better work. I'm curious why you decided to do a series after 20 years."
Answering his own question:
"Thanks, man. I appreciate that. I've been a big fan of yours, too, but I haven't seen a lot of your work. I saw The Goonies - you were so good in that movie. I did No Country for Old Men, which was a big turning point for me. Even though people really associated me with Western work, I hadn't really done a lot of Westerns. It had been a while. I talked to my agent and I was like, you know, 'I would really - I would love to look for something like that.'"
Bravo, Brolin! What a meta way to fix an awkward situation? You wonder if Jeremy Renner might do a make-up interview with Jeremy Renner. Please make this a thing.
