Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow Back Together? Ex-Couple Recalls Failed Engagement
Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow took their time to recollect the time they got engaged in a new interview.
After 25 years, Pitt and Paltrow reunited in a new interview and playfully talked about their love following their failed engagement.
During the exes' conversation for a goop article, they talked about the actor's new cashmere shirt line as part of the website's gift guide for Father's Day. The former lovers went on to talk about Pitt's relationship with her late father, Bruce.
"Since it's almost Father's Day, I'm going to ask you about Bruce. I'll never forget when we were engaged, and he came to me one day, his eyes full of tears, and he said, 'You know, I never really realized what they mean when they say you're gaining a son. Like, I'm gaining a son,'" the actor said.
Paltrow then asked him what impact her father has on him and why he loved him, although they did not get married.
Although they did not work out, she eventually married the right "Brad" for her - the "American Horror Story" and "Glee" co-creator, Brad Falchuk. Paltrow married her husband in September 2018.
While Pitt and Paltrow no longer have the chance to continue their relationship, they both know that their friendship also keeps them closer.
"It's lovely to have you as a friend now ... and I do love you," Pitt said, to which Paltrow responded, "It is ... I love you so much."
Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow's Relationship
In 1994, Pitt and Paltrow famously became Hollywood's "It" couple until their breakup in 1997. They initially met each other on the set of the film "Se7en" in 1994. They also got engaged in 1996.
Compared to his relationship with Angelina Jolie, the "Ad Astra" actor maintained love and respect for Paltrow since their split.
In 2020, Paltrow told Harper's Bazaar that she is friendly with the Oscar-winning actor and does not have bad blood against him.
She then told Vogue for its "Life in Looks" series that they used to be a '90s couple.
"I believe I was on set with Brad Pitt [at the time]," Paltrow said of the 1996 look. "He was so nice and we were a very '90s couple. I know that the Calvin Klein leather jacket is one of my favorite pieces. I've always dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt," she went on.
