Tom Hanks Tries To Hide Health Issue While Promoting 'Elvis,' Still Sparks Concern
Tom Hanks alarmed his fans earlier when he appeared to be battling to control his arm from trembling. Even though he tried to hide this as much as he could, eagle-eyed fans cannot help but notice and raise the issue online.
Hanks, 65, is immersed in a promotional frenzy for Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" biopic, in which he portrays the singer's manager. To an unsuspecting mind, he seems pretty healthy, and happy to be doing and promoting another project.
The filming took place 50 miles south of Brisbane in the city of Gold Coast.
Hanks and Austin Butler, 30, who plays The King, attended the event on June 4.
"There is no better place in the world to make a motion picture than right here on the Gold Coast. I've shot films in Morocco and Los Angeles and New York City and Seattle and in Berlin," he said, microphone in his right hand. His left hand was kept in his pocket.
"None of them have what the Gold Coast have, and what is that? Two words. None of those other cities have Dan Murphy," he added, referencing the chain of liquor stores, Dan Murphy's. "What a man, who I got to know quite well," he concluded, prompting an applause.
As he cannot keep his left hand in his pocket forever, he attempted to control his shaking hand by placing his left hand at the bottom of the microphone, underneath his right.

He also momentarily sought to exchange hands. He even tried to distract them them by praising how warm of a community they are.
But this was still noticed and raised concerns, as reported by Daily Mail UK.
In all honesty though, Tom Hanks cannot really say he has the clean bill of health. He is one of the actors who was infected with COVID-19 when it broke out, and while two years have already passed, he is said to be still suffering from some aftereffects.
In addition, Hanks himself said he was diagnosed as diabetic very early on. By 2013, he admitted to be already suffering from this condition for nearly 20 years.
Hanks also confessed that it is poor health practices that were a clear cause of his not-so-ideal health. "I'm part of the lazy American generation that has blindly kept dancing through the party and now finds ourselves with a malady," the actor told Radio Times. "I was heavy. You've seen me in movies, you know what I looked like. I was a total idiot."
