Prince William is "mourning" the loss of his once good relationship with his brother, Prince Harry, and there is "little hope" of healing their catastrophic rift in the near future, according to mutual acquaintances.

As reported by Mail Plus UK, the relations between the formerly close siblings remain at "rock bottom," more so when Prince William cannot see the fact that Prince Harry has disrespected their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

The loss is massive for Prince William though, because apart from his wife, he thought Prince Harry understood him the most. But for him, Harry has crossed a big line that he could not forgive.

According to sources close to the second-in-line to the throne, the prince is now more at peace with himself than ever before, despite having formerly railed against his future.

His marriage to Kate is robust, and being a father to Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, has brought him happiness beyond his wildest expectations.

Even his tumultuous relationship with his father, Prince Charles, has improved since he was a teenager. Only his difficult connection with his brother is the bone of contention.

When asked whether they believed William would ever mend his relationship with Harry, one insider revealed that at present, it seems impossible.

"The truth is they have got to find some common ground again at some point. [But] William is also very principled and believes Harry has crossed a line. He's thrown accusation after accusation, knowing that silence is the family's only option because they don't want to get dragged into a public slanging match. He sees how upset his father has been by it all, and it hurts," the insider explained. "William is absolutely allergic to drama but Harry has ensured that their family laundry is being aired on a global scale," he added.

Not only did that feel like a disrespect of him, but also of their grandmother. Meanwhile, reports are rampant that Prince Harry is likely to cause more drama down the road.

Nevertheless, some members of his inner circle assert that he remains "protective" of his younger brother and would "always keep the door open" for him.

Harry had to select a side, and there was only one side he would ever pick today, and that is Meghan Markle, insiders say. Prince William naturally has to pick a side too, and that would be his commitment to the royalty.
