Mayim Bialik Out? 'Jeopardy!' Fans Think THIS Person Is Show's New Host
A new buzz suggested that "Jeopardy!" would have a new host soon.
"Jeopardy!" continues its search to find the perfect permanent host after Alex Trebek's death. The game show, so far, chose to have Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik lead the show.
As of press time, Jennings has been absent from the podium, while Bialik is currently taking a break after contracting COVID-19.
Now, former Tournament of Champions winner Buzzy Cohen sparked rumors that he might be hosting the longtime-running game show.
A fan account, BuzzerBlog, posted a tweet last week, saying: "100% prepared to be wrong but still not totally believing that the Mayim-hosts-primetime-Jeopardy thing is still here. If that was still a thing, I feel like the many press releases talking about 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' would have mentioned her by now."
Cohen responded to it with a photo of Yoda saying that "there is another," sparking that he might take over the show soon.
He stirred more buzzes when he wrote a shoutout to the cameraman of his unannounced project.
The potential host famously earned the nickname "Mr. Personality" made by Alex Trebek. He won the Grand Champion title during the Tournament of Champions in 2017.
After the original host's death, he also served as a guest host of the 2021 Tournament of Champions.
Where is Ken Jennings, Mayim Bialik?
The new buzz came after Jennings and Bialik got out of the spotlight.
In May, the show's G.O.A.T tweeted that he was handing the keys back to Bialik for a few months. "Jeopardy!" fans then assumed that he might no longer host the show.
Meanwhile, Bialik tested positive for COVID-19 and shared details about her symptoms on Monday.
"It's very, very exhausting. The exhaustion is very special. I had mononucleosis in college, and the exhaustion hits like that, where you cannot be awake. You can try to be awake, but all of a sudden, you need to sleep," she said.
Bialik is immunocompromised as she has asthma and a thyroid condition. After testing positive for COVID-19, she began experiencing chest tightness.
She recently shared a follow-up video saying that she still did not have energy, but her condition had already improved.
Aside from finding a new host, "Jeopardy!" also recently tapped a new showrunner after firing Mike Richards.
In April, British producer Michael Davies - who officially replaced Richards - penned a blog to make the formal announcement on the show's website. He revealed that he accepted the position after Sony Pictures Entertainment offered the full-time executive producer job.
