Kim Kardashian, Kanye West To Face Off In Court And Rapper May Not Win This
Over the weekend, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were pictured attending North's basketball game - but things are becoming worse behind closed doors.
The former power couple, who married in 2016 and divorced in 2021, is apparently headed for trial in their contentious divorce because the "Donda" rapper is dragging the proceedings with his deceptive techniques.
Despite resolving their co-parenting concerns, a source informed The Sun that they are still far from reaching an agreement on custody in their divorce procedures.
The 41-year-old "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star was married to Kanye West and has four children.
A trial setup conference is scheduled on August 5, according to court papers acquired by the outlet. It also revealed that Kim and Kanye had multiple back-and-forth discussions.
However, before any Family-Centered Case Resolution Conference is scheduled, which might happen sooner, The Sun disclosed that both parties or their legal representatives should "meet and confer."
The Vogue cover stars should discuss what each of them is seeking for in the documents, the topics they can agree on if an expert witness is called in, and what further they require if the matter is resolved or goes to trial.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will have to exchange financial records and information as well.
However, concerns regarding Kim's new boyfriend, Pete Davidson, are sure to surface following the Grammy-winning rapper's rants over their relationship.
A few months ago, the Yeezy creator told Hollywood Unlocked that he had urged his staff to hasten the breakup of his marriage to the SKKN billionaire so that "I can devote my complete focus to our lovely children."
However, Kanye is now on his fifth lawyer since the divorce was filed, after four lawyers had previously withdrawn from the case.
Samantha Spector, the fourth lawyer, has previously worked on celebrity divorces and claims that there has been "an irreversible rupture in the attorney-client relationship."
She was recruited to replace Chris Melcher, who was also sacked, and has had problems with other lawyers working on the case due to his outbursts.
"Kanye understands that a successful divorce means it'll be over for him and Kim," the insider says, "and many of his delay tactics are motivated by his opinion that Kim moved on too quickly with Pete."
Additionally, family law attorney Holly Davis spoke about Kanye being difficult and what the outcome can be if he continues doing so.
"This is a last resort for a celebrity like Kim, who has tried to keep the messiness of her breakup out of the press, but it is the only way to deal with a spouse who will not negotiate from a position based in logic."
